Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.

August 9, 2007

The content on this page is solely created by you, the viewers, so if you want to see more, you'll have to contribute something yourself.

  1. Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...

Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)

Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!

  2. The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.

On with the haikus!

Haiku number one makes you wonder what the people behind the counter think...

This haiku is about one of our customers at the place I work. She is mean and rude and universally hated. She inspired me to write this:

A nasty old hag -
She is evil incarnate...
Don't look at her face!

--joni stevens

Haiku number two found us by our most well-known link...

I started a haiku contest at work this week, and then tonight I just stumbled across your site via the Prisoner's Thriller, then the bridal party Thriller:

I'm glad I found you...
Stumbling through some videos
I loved your Thriller

--joni stevens

Haiku number three is Haiku of the Week because it covers all the big news of the week...

Bighead Juicer Bonds,
Hall of Famer Potential?
But not Pete? What gives?

Thriller's gone big time.
Enough to bring Jacko back?
Let's pray that it's not.

--Sarcasmo
