Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.

October 16, 2008

The content on this page is solely created by you, the viewers, so if you want to see more, you'll have to contribute something yourself.

  1. Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...

Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)

Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!

  2. The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.

On with the haikus!

Haiku number one explains in detail its position on last week's haiku submission...

Obama's voting
habits - not as amusing
to poke fun at here...

Was pointing out the
coincidental naming
similarities

The future see not -
But Obama in charge is
most scary indeed...

--Sarcastic in Wisconsin

Haiku number two has an alternate destination in mind other than the Great White North...

Canada? No thanks.
Mexico has more beaches.
Spring Break for FOUR YEARS!

--Sarcasmo

Haiku number three's mind was made up by debate number three...

Debates are over.
No...No...No to Obama.
McCain has my vote.

Trust is an issue
when I vote in elections.
McCain fares better.

--Red White & Blue all through!

Haiku number four isn't quite right -- it was the Mailbag that was empty this week-- but proposes a solution anyway...

No haikus? Oh no!
However will we get by?
Drinking always works.

--David Kaleida

Haiku number five gets Haiku of the Week for the best theory on why there was no mail this week...

Maybe nobody wrote in this week because everyone is still in shock???

Sooners lose, fans mourn.
Dallas too. Romo gets hurt.
Football makes me sad.

--Bobby
