Things to do in Norman.

Since you're coming all the way to Norman anyway, here are some local attractions that might interest you:

Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History

Dinosaurs! Oh, and other stuff, too. But really, what more do you need than dinosaurs? UPDATE: Special bonus dinosaur! A T-Rex Named Sue has been extended until August 20th!

Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art

Especially notable for the Weitzenhoffer Collection, which features paintings by Monet, Pissarro, and Van Gogh. Do you have Van Goghs in your town? No? Ha! Norman rocks!

James Garner Statue

Who is the tall, dark stranger there? Maverick is his name! James Garner, who hails from Norman, has a 10-foot-tall bronze likeness of himself on Main Street just over the railroad tracks in downtown Norman. It'll take you all of five minutes to check it out.

The Barry Switzer Center Legends Lobby

You like your attractions to be less cerebral? Well then, come see a tribute to muscle and sweat. The Legends Lobby is a tribute to OU football and sits at the south side of 85,000-seat Memorial Stadium.

The University of Oklahoma

The campus, like much of Oklahoma, is perfectly flat, so it makes an easy walking tour. But unlike most of Oklahoma, the campus is full of trees thanks to a tree-planting program by OU President David Ross Boyd in 1892. Come take a cool summer stroll!

Perfect Swing

Mini-golf! Batting cages! Bumper boats! Are you going to want to do any of these things while in town for a wedding? Who knows? We're just giving you options.

Sooner Mall

It's not particularly big, but it is air conditioned, and in Oklahoma in August, that's a big plus.

Bricktown (Oklahoma City)

Restaurants, clubs, movies, and a canal! You could easily spend a lot of time up here.

Oklahoma City National Memorial (Oklahoma City)

Very nice. Highly recommended.

Of course, this is just a small sampling of things in the area. We're not going to list every tourist attraction in Oklahoma. That would take a lot of time, and we have a wedding to plan!
