Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.

March 27, 2003

The content on this page is solely created by you, the viewers, so if you want to see more, you'll have to contribute something yourself.

  1. Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...

Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)

Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!

  2. The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.

On with the haikus!

Haiku number one's author is just a juggalo...

Tomorrow is the
Day ICP comes here for
The Shangri-La tour.

The next Haiku deals with the concert and another event...

Most of you don't care,
But I've been waiting for months.
B-day on the tenth.

And finally, the joys of being a sophomore:

School is almost out.
Spring Break now; we're out in May.
Only 2 years left!

--The Raven's Mirror

Haiku number two didn't miss the red carpet...

Brian, this is my power of positive thinking at work!

Oscars are over
Moore not worth thinking about
He is Hollywood

Baghdad on our minds
As we give lives to save lives
Iraqi Freedom

War was eminent
And Saddam Hussein's regime
WILL BE DESTROYED

--It's me again

Haiku number three reveals the stresses of current events...

All of this War Stuff-
Makes writing Haiku's harder.
They can't all be gems.

Haiku of the week-
The glory fades away fast.
Seven Days - then - gone.

--Sarcasmo

Haiku number four sees the Sweet Sixteen, but does it also get our Final Four pick right?...

Sooners dribbling ball.
Who will win basketball game?
Cal Bears must go home.

--Lee

Finally, haiku number five earns Haiku of the Week. Now, excuse me, while I kiss this fly...

Easily misheard...

"Shock and awe", let me
rock you, let me rock you, "shock
a con", "chocolate khan"

Let me rock you, that's
all I wanna do, "shucking
corn", let me rock you!

Cause I feel for you,

--Christina
