Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.

July 8, 2004

The content on this page is solely created by you, the viewers, so if you want to see more, you'll have to contribute something yourself.

  1. Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...

Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)

Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!

  2. The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.

On with the haikus!

Haiku number one reveals that maybe Michael Moore has been reading those Matthew Lesko books...

All you have to do to get in the film business is to apply for grants to do documentaries. Once you get the money, then stick it to the government. A true patriot!

Moore,and then more Moore.
He started with government
grants to produce films.

We find haiku number two ironic because its author is happy paying exorbitant prices for popcorn, but balks at paying a fair price for the best movie of the summer...

I did go see it;
Spider-Man was worth the price.
Snuck in, saw it twice!

My cash was not seen
Not by Kirsten or Tobey
Just by the popcorn.

--Bad Panda

Haiku number three gets Haiku of the Week because it has it knows what should come first...

Work piles up on me.
Priorities in order.
Make time for Haikus.

--Sarcasmo
