Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.

September 16, 2004

The content on this page is solely created by you, the viewers, so if you want to see more, you'll have to contribute something yourself.

  1. Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...

Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)

Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!

  2. The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.

On with the haikus!

Haiku number one catches Team Rockwood's mistakes, and pleads for CBS to own up to theirs...

How about this Thursday haiku?

"Now I'P way up here"
What in the world does I'P mean?
Rockwood got forged too?

Message to Rather,
Give it a rest, you were wrong.
Move on already.

Message to Brian,
Don't stop, this is killing me.
Keep on keepin' on.

Haiku number two seems to indicate that Grandma has an advance team...

Grandma is writing
Haiku to Rockwood comic!
Hope you will like it.

I thought of no better way to let you know that your grandma has been composing a haiku to send to you. I am not sure if it will be coming this week or next week or when, but watch for it. She is proud of her grandson and enjoys his comics and mailbags. So do I. Your comics are written for all ages, even though sometimes I am not on the same level of thinking!!

Haiku number three points us toward a Star Wars fan flick (but not to its sequel)...

short Haiku Thursday
we must do something to fix
here is my attempt

Pink Five is funny
has Rockwood seen this "movie"?
poor little R2

can haiku question
or must it be a statement
just checking the rules

Haiku number four gets Haiku of the Week for putting in far more work than necessary...

Team Rockwood demurs,
"a lot more work on our part";
Behold! The RegEx:
