Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.
January 27, 2005
The content on this page is solely created by you, the viewers, so if you want to see more, you'll have to contribute something yourself.
- Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...
Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)
Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!
- The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.
On with the haikus!
Haiku number one is a shout-out...
I just want to say
A big fat "Word!" to Dana
Hit 'em hard for me.
--Elizabeth
Haiku number two forces us into a confession: we ACTUALLY desire a Ferrari, but haikus will have to do for now...
Input, my input?
This is what YOU desire?
Or is it just me?
--James
Haiku number three made us look this up: Philadelphia has scored 27 points four times this year. However, we don't know how that's significant...
Twenty seven points.
That gives the Eagles a win.
The Steelers, a loss.
--Brian Layman
Haiku number four, yes, tracker programs are stupid, but Nazis are never fun. Well, except maybe "Springtime for Hitler" Nazis...
in response to this week's strips so far...
"and beat them senseless"?!
those who send tracker programs
already senseless
happiness at the
misfortune of others, eh?
nazi idol - fun.
--Drew
Haiku number five wins Haiku of the Week because anything that references both "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy" can't be all bad...
Oompa Loompas spawned
Matt Groening's Grunka Lunkas.
Chumba Wumbas too.
For that I thank him
and Family Guy's MacFarlane.
Wonkavator's rule!
--Sarcasmo
