Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.

The content on this page is solely created by you, the viewers, so if you want to see more, you'll have to contribute something yourself.
- Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...
Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)
Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!
- The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.
On with the haikus!
Haiku number one leaves us confused, but hey, fifty years of anything is impressive, right?...
golden jubilee
the only thing unchanged, she
still calls him honey
--john tiong chunghoo
Haiku number two catches spring, and hay, fever...
Spring is in the air.
I watch the song birds mating
In the tops of trees.
Sneezes are coming
The pollen rains down again
Achoo! Gesundheit.
Flowers are blooming
The sun beckons me outside
But I have to work.
Benadryl won't kill
Watering eyes and red nose
Can't wait for summer.
--Tony J. Moyer
Haiku number three, or should we say, Haiku Episode Three...
Hope I made it in time. Since I seem to have Star Wars on the brain....
Star Wars Three coming
Having seen episode Four
I know how it ends.
Wicked Chancellor
rises to Emperor and
decimates Jedis.
Obi wan to face
former pupil in a fight
rivals all others.
Traitor Anakin
makes pact with devil, becomes
feared in galaxy.
Green, Red, Blue, Purple
Light saber duels are ahead
Yoda will kick butt.
Padme gets knocked up,
kids sent off to protect them
from evil father.
Alderaan for one,
Tatooine for the other,
Heritage unknown.
End is depressing
Bad guys will seem to have won,
Rebellion begins.
Hope high for film but
Lucas could still let us down,
Please let Jar-Jar die.
--Mikki
Finally, haiku number four is the Haiku of the Week because we too are ready for a little warm weather...
Spring brings allergies.
It's worth it to get the warmth.
See you at the lake.
--Sarcasmo
