- Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...
Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)
Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!
- The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.
On with the haikus!
Haiku number one hints of a coverup...
Bad Panda is right
Mikki's a girl but her age
will remain unknown
(Just not safe info to give on the net, although officially I'll say I can't disclose my age for reasons of national security.....'cause that sounds a lot cooler!)
--Mikki
Haiku number two watches a little primetime TV...
Lost conspiracies,
Survivors search for the truth
equals ratings hit
Skip's got the money,
could mount rescue mission to
find the castaways
--Mikki
Haiku number breaks down love lives of the next generation...
Bad panda is right
Riker is the romance heir.
But what of the rest?
Riker ultimate
TNG ladies man ?til
he got hitched to Troi
Picard not too bad
but couldn't hold onto one--
lonely at the top
Worf most productive--
has son, but never marries
until DS9
La Forge goes for the
gorgeous, intelligent and
unattainable
Wes gets a couple
often with complications
before he exits
Data gets girls too--
may be fully functional
but not perfect man
--Mikki
Haiku number four begs the rhetorical question, "Ya think?"...
Last week's all-Mikki-Haiku-Thursday may have gone to my head...
I would like to thank
all the little people I
stepped on to get here.
--Mikki
Finally, haiku number five gets Haiku of the Week for capturing the essence of our obsession...
Lost: how apropos
It's how I feel when I watch.
But I keep watching.
