- Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...
Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)
Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!
- The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.
On with the haikus!
Haiku number one is rightly upset that Pluto is no longer a "planet"...
The new mnemonic:
My Very Eager Mother
Just Served Us NOTHING!
--Christina
Haiku number two wishes us well...
Wedding Day - over.
Apropos haiku wishes
Congrats and God bless.
Honeymoon begins
No updates? We understand.
Enjoy your free time.

Haiku number three must have consulted our mothers...
Brian and Sandy
Sitting in a tree. K-I-
S-S-I-N-G.
First comes love, then comes
Marriage. Then comes someone in
A baby carriage.
--Bad Panda
None of the above, haiku number four. Think just east of Florida...
Honeymoon rolls on.
Pacific Isles, or Europe?
None of the above?
--Sarcasmo
Haiku number five gets arty...
Deep in the ocean,
Wondering just where to go,
The souls are stranded.
--tri tran
Haiku number six gets a lenient count for the third line...
On a the New York lane,
People prayed for peace to come;
In their hearts, there're wails.
--tri tran
Haiku number seven has been reading too many "Left Behind" books...
Apocalepsis!
The death, injured and wailers,
Sprawling on the front.
--tri tran
Haiku number eight contributes in any way it can...
Honeymooning still?
Home and "too busy" to post?
Updates are welcome.
Poetry only.
Drawing is not my talent.
Otherwise, I'd help.

Haiku number nine is sad, but really, how did you expect him to go?...
Steve Irwin is lost
Killed by an eight-foot sting ray
An apt death...Krikey.
--Tony J. Moyer
Haiku number ten gets Haiku of the Week because we're shameless self-promoters...
Sandy and Brian
Wedded Bliss and Thriller Dance
A match made online.
