Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.

- Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...
Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)
Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!
- The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.
On with the haikus!
There are still a few days remaining to prove haiku number one untrue...
Taxes due soon! Can't
believe that Al's gonna beat
me to filing them.
--Mikki
Haiku number two highlights a common misconception: even those who "get paid" still pay in...
Tax day approaches.
Paying out or getting paid?
Uncle Sam wants his.
--Sarcasmo
Haiku number three makes us wonder, even their mothers? Yes, even their mothers...
Everyone hates them
The IRS-bad, bad news
evil incarnate
--Jane Rohan
Haiku number four is Haiku of the Week for celebrating when no one else does...
Oh happy birthday!
Though many folks cry since I
was born on tax day.
--Mikki
(In my defense, it was Easter Sunday the year that I was born... :)
Want to see last week's Haiku Thursday? Go check it out!
Send in your haiku and maybe next week you can achieve poetry fame! See you then!
