through vague Japanese poetry.

- Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...
Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)
Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!
- The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.
On with the haikus!
Haiku
number one is about the left...
Obama comics
Make me laugh, but are they safe?
You're not Danish, right?
Only two weeks left
and then the world will be saved.
Note the sarcasm
--Sarcasmo
Haiku
number two is about the right...
Met Sarah Palin
Even got her autograph
She spoke very well
Couric interview?
Was she totally nervous?
Surely not her best
Campaign manager
Obviously not the best
We need a jingle...
--cee
Haiku
number three is neither left nor right...
This haiku isn't particularly clever or artistic, but
it's politics; nothing is ever clever there.
Why expect change from
Republicans, Democrats?
Two same old parties.
Again, selling change
Yet never delivering;
Will we ever learn?
By definition
Stupidity is voting
For more of the same
Don't waste your vote on
Same old tired politics
Send a new message
When you want real change
Vote a truly new platform
Libertarian!
--Eric Barnhart
Haiku
number four gets Haiku of
the
Week because left, right, or neither, at least we're blessed...
Thank God I live in America.
We all have a right
to go to the polls and vote.
How lucky we are.
--Red, White & Blue
