Express yourself!
Have you always wanted to let Team Rockwood know just what you were thinking? Do you wonder why the panels of the strip are laid out horizontally instead of vertically? Or do you have sensitive documents that will bring down the government? In any case, we want to know! Just fill out your name and e-mail address, then let 'er rip! No question or comment is too bizarre for Team Rockwood to take a stab at, and if we can get enough mail coming in, this page will be updated weekly! (Unlike the old mailbag page, which got updated about four times in two years.)
So consider this an experiment in web interactivity. Or, consider it a way to artificially inflate our hit count. Either way, just write in!

In your engineer's week comic strip, the weight should be 0, without the slash. The way you wrote it would mean 'empty set.'

Ahhh...a correction only an engineer would make. Lizzy is correct about the zero, we just spent so much time trying to create a problem that was actually solvable that we slipped up on the notation. Bonus points for you, Lizzy!
Of course, all of the rest of class hates you now, but you can be Team Rockwood's teacher's pet!

Hey! Are you ready for the LOTR (Lord of the Rings) movie!? I am! How do you think it'll go? Movie history of movie bust?

Quite frankly, we don't see what the big deal is. It's just a bunch of people jumping up and down, moving their feet in ways that should be physically impossible, then...
Oh wait. We're sorry. We thought you said Lord of the Dance! Yeah, we think the movie will make money. Duh!

So, I'm reading thru your mail archive (funnier than the strips... is that a bad thing??) and at the bottom of the April 23 one you say the next update'll be May 7. The next available mailbag page is for June 6. So... are you censoring what could be the funniest mailbag page because you are concerned for my health and don't want me to laugh any harder than I already have and possibly split open the stitches from my appendix removal? Or was it one of the May "scheduling problems"?
--Rye Guy (AKA Ryan G.)

Exactly, Rye Guy! We were just concerned for your health. Actually, that was back before we got the link from Fox Trot that gave us so much of our traffic. At that time, we really weren't getting enough mail to warrant putting out a new mailbag page every week. Now we get enough letters where we can completely cut out the repetitive or incoherent ones. So once again, we have to stress that Team Rockwood is in no way part of any kind of coverup scheme.

I did a search for your comic strip using just "Rockwood" and you would not believe how many sites that have nothing to do with you came up... tried "rockwood comic" and found you!
I was amused to note that the second choice for "rockwood comic" was the following link. Check it out for the bad spellings and laugh at the fact that the site is evidently so old it tries to link to a previous "Rockwood" server.

James, not only is Art Rockwood's site trying to link to a previous server, it's trying to link to our original server. Art is about four domains behind the times. And the reason there's a link on his page to us in the first place is because we, like you, typed "Rockwood" into a search engine and his page came up first. We sent him a flattering note so he'd put a link up to our site. Had we realized how small Art's traffic was, we probably wouldn't have bothered, but that was back in the days when 30 hits a week was a stampede, so any little bit helped.

First of all, I love the comic. Second of all, I don't get it!
How did they all know each other? Where did Skip get the money to invest in the first place? The 'return' of the newt? I'm lost! Understand that all I have to go on is the archives. What else is there? Your readers need to know. They NEED to know!

Oh Laura, so many questions...and the best way to answer them is by getting yourself a copy of the 2002 Rockwood Calendar! Since this is the tenth anniversary of Rockwood, the 2002 Rockwood Calendar is celebrating by compiling a wide variety of our funniest strips into one easy-to-purchase collection.
Okay, plug over. The second best way to answer them is this...
- They've known each other since college.
- Skip comes from wealthy parents.
- Newt originally existed just to be merchandise-able, and someday may be again.
But really, you shouldn't need a lot of backstory to get the jokes. You'll just get more if you do. Kind of like watching some movies.
