Express yourself!
Have you always wanted to let Team Rockwood know just what you were thinking? Do you wonder why the panels of the strip are laid out horizontally instead of vertically? Or do you have sensitive documents that will bring down the government? In any case, we want to know! Just fill out your name and e-mail address, then let 'er rip! No question or comment is too bizarre for Team Rockwood to take a stab at, and if we can get enough mail coming in, this page will be updated weekly! (Unlike the old mailbag page, which got updated about four times in two years.)
So consider this an experiment in web interactivity. Or, consider it a way to artificially inflate our hit count. Either way, just write in!

So Bill C. returns but not Bill A.?

Yep, that's about the size of it, Elizabeth. Look, here at Team Rockwood, we have to say that over the years we've had about as much Bill Clinton as we can stomach, but we've got to admit that he's one charismatic guy. And that's even compared to other cartoonists that we happen to like.

Dear Brian and SUIITUSA,
I am like SUIITUSA, at home with dialup and school with high speed. All I can offer to SUIITUSA is one thing. Patience. (you know, one of them virtues) Just think of it like this: it is downloading slowly because Brian is still drawing it (yeah, I know, it's not perfect, but it's a start)

Good idea, Mike! In fact, if you start downloading with your 28k modem right now, you'll be just in time to download this winter's Christmas strips! Okay, that's not true. The truth is that Rockwood, unlike a lot of other sites, is designed so that even those of you with slow connections can enjoy Rockwood without cursing at it. We happen to think that's important. After all, just because you're unable or unwilling to shell out the bucks for a DSL or cable connection, that shouldn't be a reason for you to not surf Rockwood on a daily basis, right?

Hey, cool!
Congratulations on the black belt!
How long did it take?

From here on, Team Rockwood will take a little break this week while we let Brian answer all the questions himself.
First of all, thanks to everyone who bothered to write in. It's good to hear from you all about this. As far as length of time, I started taking taekwondo in January of 1995. Admittedly during some (ahem... a lot) of this time, my work ethic has been less than exemplary, but there's a lot to be said for just continually going to class and doing what your instructor tells you to do.
This goes for school as well as martial arts. Having done some teaching myself, I can't tell you how many times I would ask a student to do something well within his capabilities and he would fail simply because he wouldn't try. You can learn a lot just by trusting someone who knows more than you.
That said, the last six months have been very stressful, and I've put off a lot of other things so I could focus on the belt test. But now that it's over, it feels great, and my hands are now lethal weapons. Or at least, the one that I didn't break on that paving stone is.

Congrats on the black belt. I hope this doesn't mean that Rockwood will start putting the moves on Skip.
--Will Hettchen
|

That's doubtful, it's not like Skip is being threatened by the Cobra Kai up there on the space station. And just getting a martial arts title doesn't make you evil. It's money that does that.

... oops... you mean me? Yessir... I'll retract any perceived criticism... and I'll just run over to the corner and cower while you threaten me with those great black belt moves...
--James

Oh, James, there's no need to worry about lil' ol' me. You can criticize me if you see fit. Having a black belt just means I have Fists of Fury, not that I'm going to use fear to keep the locals in line. If that was true, my picture would look a lot more like this.

LoL...I like the blackbelt thing. Say it, Brian... "I know kung-fu." You know you want to.

Ha! That's where you're wrong, TRM. I have no wish to offend people who actually practice Kung Fu by claiming that I know how to do it. However, I do feel like singing...

Congrats on the belt! And keep up the good work on the comic. I love it!

Thanks, AmyO, and thanks to everyone else, too. Just so you'll all know, when I said I've been putting off a lot of things to take this test, many of those things had to do with Rockwood and this site. Now that I have some free time, expect to see some changes around here in the following months. Thanks again for sticking with me!
