November 8, 2006,

Ok, so I voted, but there weren't any Rockwoods on my ballot, or Brian Lundmarks either. So did I do any good?

--Jim Rockwood

You did fine, Jim. There have never been any Brian Lundmarks on the ballot that you could vote for, and Rockwood hasn't been on the ticket since the 2000 race. We don't know who you did vote for, but at least you didn't miss out on the opportunity to vote for us!

November 8, 2006,

Brian,

Do you think you are Kreskin or something? Updated mailbag on November 7, mail sent on November 11th. Maybe Hiro?

Whoops! Our mistake, since corrected, was hitting that "one" in "eleven" one too many times. Good to see that someone is paying attention though. Thanks, Anonymous!

November 9, 2006,

I know how you can get more people to write in to the Rockwood Mailbag. Just delay all the strips by a few hours. You seem to allways get more letters when you delay.

--Rookee alding

We suppose that's true, Rookee, but we think it would set a bad precendent to get people to write in to the Rockwood Mailbag just to complain about our tardiness. After all, what we're looking for here is unique viewer input, not just letters that say "you suck!"

November 9, 2006,

Deliciously bitter Wednesday cartoon there. Don't worry, I'm sure the Republicans will find some way to blame their loss on Bill Clinton, just like they always do.

--Robert

That's just silly, Robert, because Clinton more than anyone was responsible for the Republican takeover of Congress in the first place. The G.O.P. might have blamed Clinton for a lot of things, but he certainly never cost them an election, as the Republicans won the House in 1996, 1998, and 2000 thanks to Bill's lack of influence.

Besides, there's very little Clinton-blaming in current discussions of the 2006 elections. In fact, if anything, the G.O.P. blames themselves for abandoning their own principles, and rightly so. It's this willingness to accept fault that leads Team Rockwood to side with Republicans more often than Democrats. To steal an idea from George Will, when Republicans lose, they try to figure out what they did wrong. When Democrats lose, they try to figure out what's wrong with you.
