March 20, 2007,

You guys just get better with time! How do we vote for our favorite Wedding Thriller Video on You Tube?

--katie

Unfortunately, Katie, YouTube chose not to nominate us for their YouTube Video Awards, so the only voting you can do for us is on the Wedding Thriller Dance page. It's just as well, as we were unlikely to be able to beat Here It Goes Again, anyway.

Still, as the saying goes, it would have been an honor just to have been nominated. Plus, when OK Go beat us, we would have been able to snarl in disbelief and make a sore loser video. Hey! We still could do that! Where's that camera?

March 22, 2007,

I watched your local news video (scroll to "Thrilling Wedding") about the dance, and I couldn't help but see that everytime they used the youtube clip it had Rockwoodcomic.com on it and it wasn't blurred out. I guess this plug will cover for any you could have made but didn't.

Indeed it did help us, Rookee. In fact we checked our stats and it was clear that all of KOKH's viewers clicked through to our website. Thanks to all three of you!

March 22, 2007,

I must agree with Sarcasmo that Emma was a cutie. I don't remember seeing her in the original video though...I'll have to watch the thriller dance again.

Lets not forget the cute couple, though. But I have to ask, is "Thriller" your song? Did you have a ghoulish bride and groom on your wedding cake? How will you top it off for your 1st anniversary? Perhaps some Jailhouse Rock? Or, even better, let the wife take the lead: maybe some Madonna?

Emma made a late appearance in the original video, Panda. The whole dance was a surprise to the guests, and the dancers were supposed to listen for "Thriller" to start, then shamble aimlessly toward the dance floor, hitting their spots at just the right moment. Unfortunately for Emma, although she'd been at all the practices, she was playing outside with other kids when the music started. She did perform in the encore presentation later that evening.

But "Thriller" is not Brian and Sandy's song (no, we're not telling -- it's their song!), and there were no other hints at Michael Jackson's epic other than the cryptic cartoons that appeared on everyone's tables beforehand.

As for the follow-up, they'd never really planned one before, but at 1.3 million hits and counting, maybe they'd better start working one up.

March 22, 2007,

Sent the links to the Ellen show. You are a great entertainer. Did you hear the ladies in the audience screaming/cheering you on? Did someone say that Sandy is expecting? That would be great news!!!

Expecting? Did Brian's mom put you up to this?

March 23, 2007,

Welcome to New York. Hope you had a good time. Were your group's travel expenses reimbursed by the Mike and Juliette show?

--Michael

Yes indeedy, Michael. Network television treats you good. The Morning Show paid for everything except our food, although they did serve us a slice of the now-famous $1,000 pizza that an upscale New York pizzeria had invented. Our advice? Save your money. Caviar does not belong on pizza.

March 24, 2007,

*clap* *clap* *clap* very well done!

Unfortunately they didn't fly in the entire wedding party like they said. Too bad about the calendars or just promoting the site would have been great - but you'll get more opportunities, so hang in there! :)

--Anonymous

Welllll, they did and they didn't, Anonymous. There were 12 people in the original video, and as much as all of them wanted to come, it's hard to find a gap in 12 different schedules that would allow everyone to go. We ended up with eight people flying to New York because that was the most we could get at any one time. That turned out to be a good thing, as the stage was barely big enough for eight people, anyway.

It would have been great if we'd had the awareness to plug the 2007 Rockwood Calendar on the air, wouldn't it? As it is, we'll just have to settle for plugging the 2007 Rockwood Calendar right here on this site. But you're more right than you know, Anonymous. More opportunities are already in development, so keep watching and we'll let you know when they happen! In the meantime, why not order a now-discounted 2007 Rockwood Calendar for your wall? They look great everywhere!
