Thanks for the Big Trouble in Little China reference - a classic movie...now if you can tell me the relationship between it and Buckaroo Banzai I'll be really impressed.

We can't impress you with our knowledge, Andrew, because even our crack staff at Team Rockwood didn't know the answer to that.

However, we can impress you with our Google skills, because we know how to use the web to find answers. And the answer to your query is W.D. Richter, who directed The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension and who helped write the screenplay to Big Trouble In Little China.

Now that we have that link, it makes us wonder if we haven't missed some other quirky, cult-style movies involving Mr. Richter. We might have to head down to the video store and do some renting.
