August 27, 2008,

What could make you bigger you ask?

1)well, do you have any other web-comic friends? I mean as in people you know who also do web-comics. This was actually the first web comic I've ever read, then one day you actually suggested some, and well they had links and somehow I now have an entire bookmark folder for nothing but web-comics.

2)Merchandising...It doesn't even have to be a T-shirt. start small a comic on a bookmark...or wrapping paper, so those are a little unconventional, but that's how you make it big now a days.

3)Maybe a one time "live-action" youtube stint, or a movie like promo on youtube. something like "you've read other comics, but this one is "out-there" *show picture of space station* see how far out there @ Rockwoodcomic.com." Or just leave random panels of your comic everywhere you go with the date of that particular comic and website name. (make sure you put by the originator of the Thriller wedding dance!)

Maybe that's enough suggestions from me. Maybe later I'll write more. ;)

Thanks for the input, Rookee. Although we shun friends and cling to our loner lives, we suppose networking with other comics isn't too bad of an idea. After all, it's not what you know, it's who you know, and we know... um... nobody important. We'll work on that.

As for YouTube, c'mon... no one ever makes it big there.

Have you checked out the new song by Jessica Simpson, Pray Out Loud? It's a touching one...guys you'll need the Kleenex.

Minnesota Vikings need a quarterback, anyone?

--K.Peterson

We seriously doubt that a Jessica Simpson song could make us cry, K., but we have to admit nearly breaking down in tears after watching the Vikings blow a 15-point lead. Seriously, Zygi, couldn't you have made an off-season deal for a quarterback?

Nice reference (hover your mouse over Friday's strip) to Star Trek "Mirror, Mirror." Amazing how facial hair still stirs feelings of mistrust!

--Steve D.

That's because facial hair is evil, Steve! Unless it's not. Well, here's a guide. Decide for yourself.

September 15, 2008,

Okay, I get Monday's comic, but it's not really funny. I really, really hate to compare it the Family that revolves the three rings. But it's darn close to the level of non-humor to me. Sorry for the criticism. I think this is a first for me.

Just an afterthought to the whole Subway wrapper... on the bigger picture in small print, it says "Caution: Toasted subs may be extremely hot". I think there's a double meaning there. Is Subway subliminally advertising "hot tomatoes"?

I don't remember too many Rockwood comics after a few days, but I do recall one. This one (Wednesday's strip) was funny . Not a "Haha!" funny, but a "OMFG funny!"

If you can do this soon, I'd like it.

--Leif

Not every strip is loved by everyone, Leif, so no apology is necessary. You may not like the Subway strip, but there are other people who didn't like that Michael Moore strip you found funny. That's okay, too. Any strip that is controversial is going to be liked by some and disliked by others.

We appreciate feedback either way. Remember people, telling us what you like and dislike is the best way to shape Rockwood into a comic strip that meets your comedy needs. It's like a group project, and all of you are the committee members, so make your opinions known and write in today!
