September 25, 2008,
can't believe you are considering political
pez dispensers and you haven't even come up with a Rockwood T-shirt
yet? Where are your priorities? Christmas is getting close. By the
way, put me down for 5 more Rockwood Calendars.

We haven't, Jim, even though we've been promising
since February that we would. But a calendar and a t-shirt would make
a good Christmas combo, wouldn't they? We'll have to get on that.

September 27, 2008,
It is Friday evening. The long awaited
debate is over...and who is the winner?
Between you and me, this is my take:
McCain certainly is on top when it comes
to knowledge of military issues, foreign countries and his insight
about the leaders of those countries. There was no contest in that
arena. Obama seemed to be on edge and lacked confidence in his statements
coming across as being defensive. The younger generation probably relates
to him better than someone my age. Neither of the candidates made a
commitment to how he would solve our financial crisis.
Overall, I have to say, it was easier
for me to understand where McCain was coming from and more difficult
to follow Obama. I am not a Republican and I am not a Democrat. For
the past 40 years, I have always voted from my gut. My gut tells me
that we would be in a world of trouble if Obama was our leader. I wish
the Democrats would have found a better candidate.

We'd call it a tie, Older. And a boring tie at that. As much as everyone
else dislikes negative campaigning, we think a little bit
of well-placed sarcasm goes a long way towards winning a debate.
Both candidates on Friday seemed too unwilling to step on each other's
toes. Hopefully, Thursday's
debate will be a little more exciting.

The whole dance? You mean the one by Michael?
That's the only version we know of, Miles. If you mean a longer version
of the Wedding
Thriller Dance, the version that's on YouTube is the longest one available.
If it's too short for you, we recommend you watch it twice. It's even better
the second time!
