How, pray tell, does Dana "go shopping at Macy's" when she lives on a space station?

Well, if she was a man, she could shop they way men do: online.

But she's not, so instead she can just walk over to the store. The latest thing in luxury resorts is to have the shopping built-in. After all, your resort room rate only gets part of your money. What better way than on-site stores to try to get the rest of it? In fact, some malls are now even billing themselves as "shopping resorts."

So naturally, Skip stocks his space station with places to shop. It's a little like a 21st-century version of the company store.
