December 13, 2010,

What are my Christmas plans? Well, I'm not sure. My wife asked for a sewing machine for Christmas--one that handles quilting.

...

What do I know about sewing machines? How am I supposed to succeed here?

*sigh*

Get ready to succeed, Scott, because you've come to the right place! Here's what we at Team Rockwood know about quilting sewing machines:

...

Right! It's exactly the same amount as you! Now you may wonder how that helps you in your difficult situation. An excellent question. Let us explain.

We're sure your first instinct was to Google "quilting sewing machines." Obviously, that doesn't help because --as you've said-- what do you know about any of these sewing machines? We don't know either, Scott! What we DO know is that quilters don't need ONLY a sewing machine, and this is your chance to shine!

Head on down to your local craft store and look for the "sewing accessories" department. Once you're there, buy some inexpensive (but not cheaply made) quilting accessories. Look for something flowery (this is a hunch on our part --there aren't a lot of goth quilters). Take your purchase, wrap it up nicely, and include a card with a note that says, "This card good for one purchase of a quilting sewing machine." (Hint: Make sure you set a price limit!)

Now, see what we did there? Your wife gets:

1. A quilting sewing machine
2. Quilting accessories
3. The opportunity (and encouragement) to go shopping

You can't lose, Scott! You're welcome!
