Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.

- Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...
Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)
Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!
- The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.
On with the haikus!
Although Brian had an angle he probably could have used to get work at the Super Bowl, he has to tell haiku number one that he won't be there...
Two teams swashbuckling
I sure hope the Raiders win
Will Brian do sound?

Hey, haiku number two, just because you're writing about pirates doesn't mean you have to curse like one! Also, it's interesting to note that we have both teams in the Super Bowl represented here on Haiku Thursday...
My Rockwood Calendar finally came today! And it's also my birthday, what a coincidence. And Team Rockwood autographed it. Wow, I am so stoked. And now for my third consecutive Haiku...(no bribe this time, I only need 1 calendar).
I see a parrot,
there on his shoulder. Damn thing,
s*** a big one, too.
Poor Mr. Pirate.
Just one eye, and one good hand.
Bucs will win it all!
--Leif
Haiku number three didn't quite get the lyrics right, but merely alerting us to such a ditty is enough to earn Haiku of the Week...
"Aft on the Poop Deck,
Rolling along," is a real
(No joke!) sailing song.
