Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.
January 30, 2003
The content on this page is solely created by you, the viewers, so if you want to see more, you'll have to contribute something yourself.
- Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...
Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)
Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!
- The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.
On with the haikus!
Haiku number one thinks we'd all be better off without pirate innuendos...
Mitch and Al are great
Pirates are great for a laugh
Please keep cutlass stowed

Haiku number two is the grab-bag of poetry...
All over the board this week.
How lonely it is.
The only things I can see
Just three strips a week.
Black Boy: Richard Wright.
Also master of haiku.
Wrote many thousands.
Spring, summer, autumn.
His haiku make me feel cold,
But it is winter.
A landscape of tombs.
Dot-coms, Enrons, and still more.
Such hope, such promise.
Always run from the
Dark side of the Internet:
Family Circus' page!
Yes, I do work at
The Movie Review Planet.
Find it at Fredcorp.
Oh, Will Rockwood, please!
Humanity needs your help!
Syndicate yourself!
Helix, Flo, and Sam.
Also spacefaring peoples.
They'd like each other.
--Hannah Orlove
Haiku number three risks it all by trying beta software that, although very cool, is still missing some necessary features...
Tried Safari yet?
Can't read Rockwood hidden jokes -
ALT tags do not work.
-- The Jedi
Finally, haiku number four captures the spirit of the Super Bowl and so earns Haiku of the Week...
Just had to vent my frustrations about the Super Bowl in poetic form:
Super Bowl: BORING
"Chucky" in full force tonight
John Gruden scares me
Gannon- What happened?
Bowl history in making
Five interceptions
Bucs D: one word-WOW
Number one offense is crushed
Raider fans go nuts
--WonderWoman
