Exploring the world of comic strips through vague Japanese poetry.

June 12, 2003

The content on this page is solely created by you, the viewers, so if you want to see more, you'll have to contribute something yourself.

  1. Haikus are a form of poetry that consists of three lines with five, seven, then five syllables on each respective line. For example...

Rockwood is in space (5 syllables)
On a circular station (7 syllables)
Looking down on Earth (5 syllables)

Obviously, that's pretty boring, but technically correct. Try to do more than just count syllables. Be creative!

  2. The haiku you submit doesn't necessarily have to have Rockwood mentioned in it, but it would be nice if it related to something in the site somehow, whether it be space-related or just pertaining to a topic brought up elsewhere.

On with the haikus!

Haiku number one isn't even trying...

Haiku Haiku Hai-
ku Haiku Haiku Haiku
Haiku Haiku-ku.

--Counting syllables

Haiku number two makes us wonder, the "bug thing?"...

AtAT is
visited by another
Apple fame idol.

Moogs says you can join
the revolution, just don't
mention the bug thing.

--Q.

Haiku number three hasn't been impressed lately...

Rockwood Haikus suck
talent is gone to the Moon
where spacestation is

--McBlech (the comics are good, though)

Haiku number four appears to be a little overstressed by finals...

Unarmed bunnies kill!
Most certainly on the test.
Thank you, great Brian!

Yeah! Finals are done!
And now it's all fun and games
At least until fall.

--Elizabeth

Haiku number five falsely assumes we'd be frightened of any rabbits, no matter how dangerous...

Sluggy, Rockwood, Freefall, Real Life, Ozy & Millie, they're all good, but still...

You just dissed Bun-Bun?
You just signed your death warrant!
Brian, you fool, you!

--Hannah Orlove

The answer to haiku number six appears to be "fromage mangeant des singes de reddition"...

Brian! A question:
What's the French for "cheese eating
surrender monkeys"?

--Christina (I tried to find out when I was in Paris, but no such luck!)

Finally, haiku number seven is Haiku of the Week for realizing that sometimes change is good. After all, in '92, comedians everywhere thought that they'd never find another gold mine like Dan Quayle...

Bill and Hillary
Comedians must love them
Perpetual Jokes

--Sarcasmo
