Express yourself!
Have you always wanted to let Team Rockwood know just what you were thinking? Do you wonder why the panels of the strip are laid out horizontally instead of vertically? Or do you have sensitive documents that will bring down the government? In any case, we want to know! Just fill out your name and e-mail address, then let 'er rip! No question or comment is too bizarre for Team Rockwood to take a stab at, and if we can get enough mail coming in, this page will be updated weekly! (Unlike the old mailbag page, which got updated about four times in two years.)
So consider this an experiment in web interactivity. Or, consider it a way to artificially inflate our hit count. Either way, just write in!

September 26, 2005,
So, now that the iTMS has accumulated a library of more than 2 million tracks, has Skip updated his personal library accordingly?
Actually, he'd be needing a massive storage device to access all that music. Going by Apple's 4.3mb average per song (according to their iPod specs) he'd need over 8 terabytes of storage space. So does Skip have an Xserve RAID or three hooked up to his iMac, or is there enough space on KHAN's to keep the crew grooving for the next 15 years?

Well, since KHAN is a little temperamental, Skip wouldn't want to put all of his music there. Who knows when he'd lose access?
But ultimately, Skip didn't need over 8 TB to download all of the songs he wanted. By simply not downloading both "clean" and "explicit" versions of all of the songs in the hip-hop category, he was able to save tons of disk space.
