April 19, 2009,

I know you will enjoy this: I had a birthday last week. My hubby and son went to a large, well-known bookstore chain and searched through a large number of cartoon books trying to find me a collection of Rockwood comic strips!! They eventually gave up and I got a book on butterflies instead. Royalties lost...

You should have told them you wanted a 2009 Rockwood Calendar, Cee! Oh well, we're flattered that someone actually looked for us in a bookstore. Maybe someday if we get syndicated, they'll be able to find us right next to all the other comic books. That is, if books themselves aren't extinct by the time we get syndicated.

Lundmark,

Jeff Brown from Oklahoma Daily infamy here.

Haven't checked in on you in awhile. Looks like you've hit the big time with the thriller vid and the comic strip is doing well. Congrats!. I'm still plugging along with the novels and keeping various day jobs. Getting a little old to be chasing dreams, but wtf, rite? lol. If you like, check out my novel (if you haven't already) at google book reviews (Witching Water, by Jeff Brown).

Now that we've linked to it, Jeff, everyone can check it out, or even buy it! That is, if books themselves aren't extinct.

April 27, 2009,

Okay, I was reading a CNN blip about how former VP Cheney was trashing Obama about security, blah, blah, blah. Then it hit me, the picture of Cheney reminded me of someone from my youth. I put the pics here.

The image of Cheney peering under the brim of his hat, all in black and looking ominous , reminded me of the guy from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Sounds like a strip or three. Maybe you have some sort of episode where Cheney drops by and Mitch has some sort of Raiders flashback or something.

BTW, my two favorites, Obama's Kool Aid and "Stimulus Bill".

Great comic. Keep up the good work.

--Robert Cowles (pronounces like Kohl's, the department store or like the coals in a fire)

Cheney jokes? Why, we have a whole new vice-president to make fun of now, Robert! Although, like all good vice-presidents (well, good for cartoonists, anyway), the current veep takes all of the fun out of making fun of him by one-upping our wacky cartoonist ideas. We might have to wait until 2012 to make fun of the next V.P.

April 28, 2009,

I thought I was losing my mind whenever I would talk about Tangent Man, who I believed to have appeared in the Oklahoma Daily while I was in school at OU in the 1990s. I was pleasantly surprised to do a Google search and see Tangent Man appear online! Now I know that I haven't lost my mind, only misplaced it for a while. I will continue to bring Tangent Man into conversations that go awry with my peace of mind intact.

--Angela Startz

Ahhh... Tangent Man. Just one of many characters we need to bring back from the past, Angela. Hey! Speaking of the past, what's up with that wacky Vice President Quayle? What a character! Uh... what were we talking about again?

May 1, 2009,

I was wondering if you would add an rss feed, or do you have one that I have missed?

--Tim

We don't have one right now, Tim, but we might get one in the future. Hey! Speaking of the future, shouldn't we all be driving flying cars by now?

May 4, 2009,

Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you!

--David

The Fourth will be with you, alwayth, David!
